icing consistency: do you know this?

lamanya cik ayu dah tak buat tutorial.. windu nak mengajor.. hehe.. (takde la terer manapon cik ayu ni kan.. huhu).

cik ayu rasa everybody will face this problem, especially kalau baru2 nak blaja deco cookies guna royal icing nih.. hehe.. cik ayu salah sorang la tu..

how do you know you have the right icing consistency?

dgn hasil 'google2' saya dan percubaan puluhan kali, akhirnya saya dpt ilmu ni!

ok, camni caranya.. bile kite dah siapkan royal icing tu (guna resepi senang giler cik ayu di sini), sudukan royal icing tersebut dan tuangkan semula dlm bekas nya, buat bentuk 'zig-zag'. mcm dlm gambar ni.

kemudian kira dlm hati (kire kuat2 pon bole.. huhu), "seribu satu, seribu dua, seribu tiga, seribu empat". by the time kite abes kire, kesan 'zig-zag' tu sepatutya dah hilang, which means all the icing have settled in, jd mcm dlm gambar kat bawah ni (abaikan dulu tanda seruan ngan tanda soal tu ya.. huhu). ini maksudnya, anda dah dpt the right icing consistency utk buat outline atas cookies - i.e. outline consistency.

tp kalau dah abes kire the icing still not settled in, this means that your icing is too thick. tambah sikiiiiiit lg air, and start all over again. =).

gunakan kiraan "seribu satu, seribu dua" dan anda akan dptkan icing consistency yg sesuai utk flood your cookies - i.e. flooding consistency.

ok.. ape kes la plak ada tanda soal ngan tanda seruan tu ya.. hehe.. nampak tak ada bubbles kat tanda seruan ngan tanda soal tu? bubbles - is no-no ok! so how we avoid this?

this is how - dgn menggunakan sehelai tuala bersih yg lembap, tutup mangkuk icing anda, and let the icing rest for some time (say 10 minutes).

tik tok tik tok... dah 10 minutes..

alihkan tuala lembap td dan anda akan nampak banyak bubbles timbul, dgn menggunakan sudu kacau icing anda, musnahkan bubble2 itu! hehe..

so skang anda ada icing yg bubble-free!

salam... nak tanya sikit leh.. klu utk outline sama ke resepi dia yg kat dlm tu...ataupon buat outline biar dia kering baru kite buat yg kat dlm dia..tq.. sy baru nak cube2 tgk resepi dulu.. insyaAllah nanti nak try...hihi..

tp icing recipe still sama kak.. deco strategy jek berbeza.. next tutorial ok!

sy pon sbnrnya da jatoh centa dgn deco kukis ni..
baru skali je sy try buat untuk adik sy tunang bln lepas..sy men blaja sndiri (tgk internet jek)resepi ambil yg never fail cookies ..tp icing plak mmg manislah..boleh ke kalo kukis tu n icingnya sedang elok je rasa manisnye ye..ada tips tak ?
sy pon berminat nak tau pasal beza antara outline n yg icing nak deco kat dlm outline tu..

so semua tips cik ayu ni kongsikan amat amat berguna dan dihargai..

icing dia mmg manis la kak.. sbb tu cookies dia mcm rasa plain jek, manis nye dtg dr icing tu.. :)

pasal yg mummy seri nak tahu pasal deco tu, InsyaAllah nanti ayu share dlm tutorial :)
